Every year, our students in the Pre-K, K and 1st Grade classes participate in our own science fair.
They learn to experience the joy of discovery by choosing a science question they would like answered. They will learn terms such as hypothesis, control and variants. Finally, they will present their project to their peers and inform them whether their hypothesis was right or wrong.
Parent participation is encouraged for this activity. They will be given a list of websites to visit in order to assist the child in choosing a theme for their project. Parents can assist in setting up the project but it is the child's responsibility to present it to their peers. This experience gives the children the one on one time with their parents and it makes them feel like geniouses when they present their project. It's a win/win situation!
